Hello! I am Brenda Terry owner of Elite Wellness Training.

I have been a personal Trainer for 16 wonderful years! ​

In my youth, I stayed in shape training horses for shows and racing. However due to some life changes, I found myself seeking new challenges, and this is what led me to step into a gym for the first time in my mid-30’s. 

​

One day I was reading a Muscle and Fitness magazine and noticed a three-month challenge. It piqued my interest, so I was, in a sense, off to the races! I followed the meal plan and the workouts, and by the second month, other gym members were asking how I achieved such dramatic results. I really enjoyed answering questions and helping other people reach their fitness goals!

My next challenge was my first figure competition, the Northern Classic, in Tacoma, WA. I won second place and I realized I loved competing. That, combined with my new-found passion for helping others reach their fitness goals, lead me to realize that becoming a personal trainer was the perfect fit!

I was really looking for something that was more fulfilling, I had been working for Heinz as a Quality Control tech in the lab, and then Master line operator for 22 years. With the help of my friend Kristi, I was able to quit my job and start training for Idaho Athletic Club full time 2008. I was single and my parents were both gone, so it was up to me to sink or swim. I choose to swim. :)

Since then, my accomplishments include:

  • Coached clients who lost anywhere from 15 to 100 pounds

  • Coached clients in strengthening areas to relieve pain 

  • Featured photographically in Hormonally Intelligent Exercise by Rob Faigin 

  • Placed in the top three in a National Hot Bod contest by Precision Nutrition

  • Featured as Athlete of the month for April (year?) on Dr. Squats website (Dr. Richard Hatfield, Co-Founder and President of ISSA). 

  • Trained women for figure and bikini competitions with 90% of my clients winning or placing in the top three on their first show

  • Trained clients who took the Overall Champion prize, and one who went on to become a professional figure competitor

  • Trained tennis players who subsequently increased their wins and have won championships

  • Trained golfers to hit longer drives, and increase their endurance to play four or more days in a row. One of my clients has won Club Champion twice

 

I have had the honor of working with some of the best trainers in the world. I love to learn and working with these trainers was a thrill for me. They include:

 

I now specialize in helping active agers become pain-free, and stay that way through post-rehab exercises for the back, knees, and shoulders, gaining tone, balance, flexibility, and strength.

I have a wide client base with diverse needs, and it excites to seek out new certifications that help them reach their goals

The things I appreciate about Brenda are that she is concerned with the total package - not just getting me to lose weight, but the overall well-being and functionality of my body. 

 

Also, she respects the fact that my goal isn't necessarily to be super-thin, or have a ridiculously low body fat percentage, and she works with me towards my objectives - not some unrealistic ideal that I'd probably never achieve. 

 

 She also works with my physical limitations, and takes it on herself to find exercises and alternatives that don't aggravate them. 

 

She has learned what motivates me, and stays positive even when I don't.  She's professional and focused on my workouts, and she mixes things up so I don't get bored.  I've been training with Brenda 2 times a week for 8 years, so she must be doing a great job!

 Brenda has helped me take my fitness to a new level; one I had only dreamed of and ‘knew’ was “not possible for this ol’ girl.”  I maintained my weight loss, AND dropped my body fat another 10%! 

 

I am much leaner than even my dreams pictured, frankly I don’t recognize myself!  Being lean is nowhere in my history.
